NEW YEAR SEARCH FOR HOTSHOTS 2011

Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) is looking for this year’s culinary hot shots, to take part in the board’s successful scheme that brings new chef talent to the top table.

HotShots is an LBTB initiative, created to give opportunities to emerging young chef talent across the county.  The chefs must by aged under 25years and already working in the industry.

For one very special night the young HotShot has full reign of the restaurant kitchen; having developed their own menu they then have to deliver a three course meal for an average 50 diners who each pay £20.

In 2010, nine local businesses encouraged their young chefs to step into the Hotshots limelight, these included: Kwizeen, Blackpool; Water Witch, Lancaster; Penny Street Bridge, Lancaster; Toast, Blackpool; Millstone at Mellor; Freemasons Arms, Wiswell; Cassis at Stanley House, Mellor; The Royal Hotel, Bolton-le-Sands.

All the above businesses are Taste Lancashire accredited and help promote local producers, provide quality service and a warm welcome to visitors.

The Hotshot events are fast becoming a guilty pleasure for a number of regular and discerning guests, keen to sample an exciting new menu from a budding Jamie Oliver or Lisa Allen.
