The SPA Hotel at Ribby Hall Village is voted ‘Best SPA in the North’

12 November 2013

The five bubble SPA Hotel at Ribby Hall Village, Wrea Green Lancashire has won a second award within the space of just one week, beating fierce competition from both new and very well established Spas in the North of England.  Seventeen spas were originally shortlisted from across the northern counties including Yorkshire, Cumbria, Durham, Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.

From 1 – 31 October 2013, previous day spa visitors and overnight spa break guests, as well as readers and subscribers to The Good Spa Guide were asked to vote for their favourite spa in the North of England.  And, albeit The Good SPA Guide, an independent and expert guide to the best spas and treatments within the UK are unable to issue total number of voters, they have described the win as ‘considerable’ in terms of additional voters to those in the same category.

Lorna McLeod, who has headed up the SPA since August 2012, exclaims “The entire team has been astounded by all the fantastic feedback we’ve had in person, via our social media channels and also via email from our supporters and previous visitors over the last few days. This award really is testament to how The SPA Hotel team works tirelessly to provide a first class service.  Lorna also explains "We genuinely listen to all guest and visitor feedback, and are often our own worst critics therefore winning this award from voters makes it all the more precious to us”

Andrew Scott, who has headed up The Hotel since the SPA Hotel opened its doors back in August 2011 says “We still can’t quite believe it!  We’re extremely proud of our team, our SPA Hotel facilities and now this award.  The fact that previous guests have voted for us in such huge numbers is just fantastic; we really do keep pinching ourselves.  Andrew added "We couldn't have done this without every single SPA Hotel employee providing our guests with consistently great service.  We’re also extremely grateful to everyone that took the time to vote for us.”

The Spa facilities prove popular with local residents, day visitors from the Lancashire region and also from guests further afield who extend their time at The SPA Hotel by booking an overnight stay.  A choice of Elemis Day Spa and Pamper Packages are available seven days a week which include Elemis treatments; entrance to the unique spa facilities and aqua thermal journey; and a choice of an afternoon tea or light lunch in The Brasserie.  Pamper Packages start from £84 per person.

The multi million pound SPA Hotel was originally opened in August 2011, and quickly gained the maximum five bubble spa accreditation from the Good SPA Guide just a couple of months after opening, and more recently maintained its five bubble status from The Good SPA Guide at the beginning of 2013.

The SPA Hotel offers all its guests and day visitors an experience that’s often described as affordable luxury.  Guests can enjoy the unique aqua thermal journey from just £29pp and treatments from just £8 – £110.  Spa Breaks comprising overnight accommodation in a luxury room, breakfast, two course dinner and access to the unique aqua thermal journey start from just £99 per person per night.  Visit ribbyhall.co.uk/spa-hotel or call 0800 085 1717.
