UK’s Most Popular Seaside Resort – Blackpool

Blackpool is the most popular seaside resort in the UK according to the world’s largest travel website TripAdvisor.

The resort attracts in excess of 13 million visitors annually and is officially the favourite UK seaside destination in the 2013 Travellers’Choice Destination Awards.

Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director of Marketing Blackpool, said: “This is great news for Blackpool. Year on year with more than 13 million visits to the resort we maintain our position as the UK’s most popular seaside resort. 

“To get this nod of approval from TripAdvisor is very pleasing because this means Blackpool is the destination of choice for the millions of people who use the site to review their holidays.

“These reviews are from the heart and are visitors genuine opinions which helps other travellers to make decisions encouraging them to visit Blackpool too.” 

The Travellers’ Choice Destinations awards honour top travel spots worldwide based on millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers.  Award winners were determined based on the popularity of destinations, taking into account travellers’ favourite and most highly rated places.
