As visitors are increasingly searching on-the-go visitlancashire.com is also enabled for mobiles and tablets, with use of visitlancashire.com on mobile devices up 98% in the last year.

Ruth Connor, Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire said “Lancashire has over 62 million visitors each year who enjoy our generous mix of town, coast and countryside attractions.  We have so much choice that our visitors genuinely represent all walks of life from older couples, with time and money to indulge their pastimes, or new families enjoying time together on a budget, to the many individuals, groups and young people perhaps discovering Lancashire for the first time.

“What they will all eventually have in common, is a shared enthusiasm and appreciation for the diverse culture and consistently warm welcome on offer in Lancashire.

“It would be wonderful for Lancashire to win this vote of confidence from the public and we would encourage all those who believe Lancashire to be the Best Holiday County to add their vote – every single one counts.”

People who would like to vote for Lancashire can find a direct link on visitlancashire.com or can vote in the full range of categories at britishtravelawards.com

Lorraine Barnes-Burton, Chief Executive of the British Travel Awards said “We are delighted to see Lancashire in the running for the country’s consumer voted British Travel Award for Best UK Holiday County or Region.

“It’s a tough category with so many beautiful places to visit across the UK, and we want the travelling public to let us know who they think are the best across the BTA categories for best destinations, travel companies and travel services.

“There’s a great cache of holiday prizes up for grabs for everyone who registers to vote for their favourites via the British Travel Awards website, and of course the winners of this year’s British Travel Awards get to display their winning accolade – as voted for by their customers.”
