Let’s Get Trending for Lancashire Day

6 November 2015

Marketing Lancashire today launched a social media campaign for the month of November to help raise awareness of Lancashire Day which takes place each year on 27th November*.  Social media users are asked to illustrate their love of Lancashire with photographs of their favourite Lancashire location or activity, in ‘the county where life feels good’ including the hashtags #LancashireDay #wherelifefeelsgood.

Whether it’s your favourite view on a walk with your dog, picnicing on our stunning coast, attending one of the county’s popular annual events or sharing Sunday lunch with family or friends at one of our wonderful pubs or restaurants with a view, it’s easy to join in – just share a photo or video of your ‘feelgood’ Lancashire and upload it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter remembering to use the hashtags #Lancashireday #WhereLifeFeelsGood.

Last year a similar campaign reached over 42million people in 816 locations worldwide with #LancashireDay trending on Twitter on the 27th November by 9am in the morning.

Marketing Lancashire would like to reach even more people in 2015 and is working with partners including Blackpool Zoo, Dewlay Cheese, Eagle and Child, East Lancashire Railway, Fiddler’s Lancashire Crisps, St Annes Beach Huts and Apartments, Town Green Brasserie, UPSO, The Mall Blackburn and The Woodland Spa on a range of fantastic spot prizes and one ultimate VIP Lancashire Day Prize**, comprising a 3 night weekend break or a 4 night midweek stay in a Poppy Cottage at Ribby Hall Village (for up to 6 people), a year’s supply of Dewlay Lancashire Cheese and a year’s subscription to Lancashire Life magazine.

Head of PR and Communications at Marketing Lancashire, Anna Izza said “Lancashire Day is a day when Lancastrians all over the world, thanks to social media, can feel closer to the places and things they love most about Lancashire.

“We need proud Lancastrians to share their photos and videos and to encourage their friends and family to do the same. Submit anytime during November or join in on Lancashire Day using the hashtags #LancashireDay #Wherelifefeelsgood.

“This year we hope to reach millions more Lancastrians, by sharing images of the people, places and activities that make Lancashire the place where life feels good. Join in the fun and let’s get Lancashire trending.”

A panel of judges will consider the final gallery of all images submitted throughout the month of November and select a winner of the VIP Prize whose photograph best captures the spirit of Lancashire- Where life feels good.

During Lancashire Day itself (27 November) those uploading images or sharing messages using #LancashireDay and #WhereLifeFeelsGood, may be the lucky recipient of several additional spot prizes and surprises throughout the day.
