Lancashire's Taste Exchange unites chefs, retailers and producers

Tuesday, 5th July 2016

Lancashire’s best food & drink producers, restaurateurs, chefs and retailers, keen to see Lancashire food and drink achieve the recognition it deserves, are invited to the first Lancashire Taste Exchange; an afternoon of tasting, talking and trading developed by Marketing Lancashire with the aim of generating new opportunities for Lancashire’s food and drink businesses.

From bakers, butchers and cheesemakers, to smokehouses, chocolatiers and distilleries, a whole host of Lancashire producers will set up stall, to meet chefs, buyers and restaurateurs.

Ruth Connor, Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire said

“We know how difficult it is for chefs to find time to get out of their kitchens and discover delicious produce on their doorstep, and similarly for the county’s industrious producers to be able to present their food and drink to Lancashire’s top restaurateurs and retailers. Lancashire’s first Taste Exchange has been created in response to feedback from over 40 food professionals who attended our great Lancashire Food Debate in May.

" The debate highlighted the benefits of sharing information about Lancashire produce and meeting other Lancashire ambassadors for the county’s superlative food and drink offer, to inspire new collaborations and generate business.”

“We believe that Lancashire is producing food and drink of a calibre equal to any foodie destination in the UK, and we want people to know that. The Taste Exchange will help us present a united front, celebrating with Lancashire produce on as many menus and on as many farm-shop shelves as possible.”

The Taste Exchange will take place on Monday the 25th of July at Barton Grange Hotel 2-5pm. For more information on how to attend the event, as either a chef, retailer, or producer please contact
