9 December 2010

One of Preston’s most highly respected restaurants has been nominated in the Hi-Life Dining Awards Best Overall Restaurant category.

The Walled Garden in Preston will compete with some of the UK and Ireland’s best restaurants for the highly sought after Hi-Life Dining Award.

The Walled Garden will now rely on the 100,000 voting Hi-Life members to come out top against Chaophraya (Liverpool), Crab & Lobster (Thirsk), Grenache (Manchester) and The French (Manchester) for the Best overall Restaurant category.

Also hoping to win is The Villa at Wrea Green which is nominated alongside The Walled Garden in the Best North West category whilst Ian Piper (Pipers, Garstang) will be competing in the Best Chef category.

Lisa Lund, Commercial Director of Hi-Life said: “The calibre of entries this year has been exceptionally high, with a number of new business members of Hi-Life taking part, which is great to see.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the entrants for taking part and wish all the finalists the very best of luck for the big night.”

The grand awards ceremony, in association with Secured Mail, will be presented by BBC Northwest Tonight presenter, Gordon Burns, and will take place on the evening of 28th January at The Hilton Deansgate, Manchester, where all the finalists will be in with a chance of bringing home the coveted award.

In true Oscar style, guests to the 2011 Awards are promised a spectacular evening which will get underway with a Champagne reception followed by an outstanding dinner from award winning Manchester chef David Gale. All of this plus live entertainment from Spandau Ballet lead singer Tony Hadley will ensure the evening is truly sensational.
