Marketing Lancashire’s New Signing

10 January 2014

Marketing Lancashire, the county’s Destination Management Organisation, has a new member on the team, former semi-pro Nottingham RFC and Fylde RFC rugby player, Nicholas King.

Nick, 38, originally of Nuneaton in the Midlands joins Marketing Lancashire as Head of Business Development and brings his experience both on the field and with digital marketing agencies and companies across the Fylde,  to the role which heads up a team dedicated to developing commercial partnerships and to working with Marketing Lancashire’s increasing tourism and corporate membership.

It was a charity rugby match in Blackburn that brought Nick to the attention of Fylde RFC talent scouts, who then invited him to visit the club, where he fell instantly “in love with Lytham”.  He went on to play over 100 games for Fylde RFC between 2005 – 2011 and still lives on Lytham St Anne’s seafront, where he enjoys time with his children and long runs along the beach.

Since making Lancashire his home Nick is proud to have represented Lancashire Rugby in the County Championships. He is also recently engaged and will be getting married in Lancashire soon.

Ruth Connor, Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire, commenting on the appointment said

“I’m delighted to welcome Nick to the Marketing Lancashire team. He has a natural flair in developing business by working in partnership with individuals and companies to drive results and add value wherever possible.”
