Northcote’s Ten Days of Gastronomic Excellence

Northcote, Michelin starred restaurant in Lancashire is primed and ready for an epicurean 10 day adventure during the annual Food and Wine festival, ‘Obsession’ which starts today (Monday 20th January, 2014). 

In its fourteenth year the festival returns for gastronomy enthusiasts to enjoy ten signature menus created by eleven of Europe’s and the UK’s top chefs. The festival showcases the finest chefs, a celebration of fine food, wine and a gathering of friends.  

Nigel Haworth, Chef Patron of Northcote commented, “Year on year Obsession provides a stage for our regional producers to showcase their incredible produce our region has to offer. Our staff are given the opportunity to work with ten exceptional chefs, gaining invaluable experience. Our customers have the chance to taste the food of chefs from all over the world right here in Lancashire. For me it is my favourite time of year!”

This year the festival is proud to welcome the eclectic line up of chefs;  Paul Ainsworth, At Number 6 Restaurant, Padstow; Eric Chavot, Brasserie Chavot, London; Gary Jones, Le Manoir Aux Quat'saisons, Oxford;  Paul Cunningham, Henne Kirkeby Kro, Denmark; Adam Byatt, Trinity London ; Jonray & Peter Sanchez-Iglesias, Casamia, Bristol ; Adam Simmonds, Formerly of Adam Simmonds Restaurant At Danesfield House Marlow-On-Thames; Michael Wignall, The Latymer, At Penny Hill Park Hotel, Surrey;  Lisa Allen, Northcote, Blackburn and Nigel Haworth, Northcote, Blackburn;  will be the hosting Northcote’s fourteenth Obsession Food and Wine Festival.

Commenting on Obsession, Craig Bancroft, Managing Director of Northcote, “Obsession has garnered the reputation as one of the top food and wine events in the country. The quality and diversity of the chefs the festival attracts year on year is testament to the respect that Nigel and the team at Northcote have in the industry.”

He continued, “For me and the wine team it’s the challenge of matching so many wines to all the great menus that our guest chefs will conjure up, ensuring we give our valuable guests the best possible experience. It’s great fun, highly demanding and always topped with a sensational atmosphere, I can’t wait.”
