Northcote Invited To Join Prestigious Hotel Consortium

17 November 2014

Michelin-starred restaurant and country-house hotel Northcote has been welcomed into the prestigious portfolio of renowned Relais & Châteaux – a luxury collection of handpicked gourmet restaurants and boutique hotels across the world.

With fewer than 600 properties from 60 countries, Northcote has become part of a select group of just 32 places in the UK and the only property in Lancashire identified by five different categories: courtesy, charm, character, calm and cuisine.

Founded and co-owned by chef patron Nigel Haworth, director of wines Craig Bancroft and chairman Richard Matthewman, Northcote – celebrating its 30th anniversary next year – is renowned for seasonal, British food, contemporary and sophisticated guestrooms, and warm, knowledgeable service. Perfectly timed following a stunning, year-long refurbishment that’s seen the addition of a Cookery School, a new wing with further guestrooms and a new-look restaurant, recognition by Relais & Châteaux is testament to Northcote’s reputation for excellence and long-standing commitment to the guest experience.

Craig says: “Nigel and I are proud to have been accepted into this prestigious family. It’s something we’ve been striving for, and how wonderful to now have a Relais & Châteaux property in the North West and in the very heart of the Ribble Valley. Food and true hospitality is at the heart of both their ethos and of ours, so it’s a great partnership!”
