Excellence is Rewarded at The Lancashire Tourism Awards

18 November 2014

A customer service training initiative was rejoicing with pride after the recent Lancashire Tourism Awards.

Award sponsor, Welcome to Excellence, saw that seven out of the eight Customer Service Award Finalists were its customers, in addition to other category winners which were long-standing recipients of its Excellence training.

The Lancashire Tourism Awards, held at Blackpool Tower Ballroom early November, were celebrated by over 600 guests from the best of tourism businesses across the county.  Staff at The Via Partnership, which owns the North West exclusive licence to deliver Welcome To Excellence training, were absolutely thrilled that so many of the businesses it works with were successful in making it to the award finals.

Helen Aldous, Training Manager, said: “We are pleased to be working with such well-regarded and award winning businesses.  It is clear that the importance of exceeding customer expectations and investing in staff training has contributed to the success of the award finalists.  We are delighted that so many of our customers have chosen Welcome to Excellence training and continue to recognise its value by working with us.”

Welcome to Excellence deliver wide ranging courses designed for customer facing staff working in the hospitality, tourism, leisure, transport and retail sectors.  Its training courses enhance the skills of the individual so they enjoy even greater job satisfaction and deliver greater business benefits.

Most of the Lancashire Tourism Award winners now have the opportunity to go on to represent the county in the national Visit England Awards for Excellence 2015.
