The Woodland Spa named best in the North!

25 November 2014

THE Woodland Spa has been recognised as the best spa in the north of England at the prestigious Good Spa Guide Live Awards 2014.

The event held at Center Parcs Woburn Forest saw the best spa in each UK region recognised. This followed an online vote that polled spa users as well as readers of the Good Spa Guide.

The Burnley-based spa won the best spa in the north of England award, which follows the spa’s award earlier this year, when it was recognised as the best UK day spa in the Professional Beauty Awards.

Since then the spa has been part of a major investment in the Crow Wood site which has seen the addition of luxury accommodation, as well as the health club at Crow Wood benefitting from £500,000 worth of state-of-the-art Cardio Vascular equipment. Furthermore, the spa’s on site restaurant, Bertram’s, has just been selected to contribute to the Great British Cookbook alongside celebrity chefs Nigella Lawson, Rick Stein and Paul Heathcote.

Andrew Brown, the Managing Director of Crow Wood Leisure, said: “We’re delighted to win this superb accolade. We’re attracting people to The Woodland Spa from right across the north and further afield. Just this weekend we’ve had a beauty journalist from Cosmopolitan stay with us – so our reputation is growing and that’s in large part down to our wonderful and committed team. To have thousands of spa users vote for us is fantastic.”

“It’s very satisfying to be at the forefront of the process that is seeing Burnley being transformed,” added Andrew. “People from outside the area are recognising that we have high quality and sophistication here.”

Since the £4.5 million investment in The Woodland Spa in 2013, Crow Wood has doubled its number of staff to 160, the business’ catering arm serves 7,500 covers per month and the business will exceed sales of £5million of in 2014/15, with The Woodland seeing over 60,000 visitors in its first two years of operation.
