Festival Fever will grip Moor Park Preston summer 2015

3 November 2014

It is with great pleasure that we announce that UK Tribute Festivals, the team responsible for Festwich, an annual festival on St Mary’s Park in Prestwich, have decided that it is time to take the festival further afield. The team intend to host it at Moor Park, in Preston during summer 2015.

Festival curator Jools Taylor “ We have been in close discussions and planning now with Preston Council for nearly a year and we are extremely excited to be bringing a new Festival to Preston in summer 2015 titled Rockprest. Our festivals are unique as they are free to attend, the ticket is free and all the attendees pay is the actual booking fee through the ticket outlets which is never more than £2.50. Rockprest will be aimed at all ages and there will be something for everybody including 2 stages of music, thrill rides, kid’s rides, market area, plus food and beer tents that cater for all tastes”.

Festwich has seen some of the best in tributes from around the UK and Europe including tributes to Artic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Metallica and many more. In Preston the organisers are promising to deliver 2 full days, with over 30 acts, of some of the greatest tribute acts, as well as up and coming talent. Tim Ross festival director “ Moor Park Preston  is an ideal site to host Rockprest as logistically it’s easily accessible, also the interest and requests to bring what we do at Festwich to Preston has been unbelievable”.

Executive member of culture and leisure services, Councillor Veronica Afrin has said, “We are excited to welcome this new venture to Preston. Rockprest sounds like it will be a great experience for Prestonians of all ages and we’re pleased that UK Tribute Festivals chose us to be their next venue.”

The actual date and line up for Rockprest will not be announced until after Christmas, with tickets being released early in the new year. Having seen how quickly Festwich tickets go, the organisers predict that Rockprest tickets won’t be around for long.
