New-look website for county council services

18 December 2014

Lancashire County Council has redesigned its website to make it easier for people to find out about the council and access services.

The website – www.lancashire.gov.uk – incorporates various new features including improvements to the navigation between pages and location services which can tailor information based on where you are.

There are also improved webpages for many services including adoption, fostering, winter and business.

The new layout adapts to fit the device you're using – including mobile phones and tablet computers.

The leader of the county council, Jennifer Mein, said: "People want county council services that are easy to access, which includes making them available online.

"The new design also makes our website less cluttered, so it's easier to find the services that you're looking for.

"Many people are used to buying things online and getting information online as part of normal life. It's important that we make our council services available for people in the same way."

The online services that are used the most have been included on the homepage itself, to make them easier for people to find. This includes reporting highway faults, applying for the Blue Badge disabled parking scheme, library services, school holiday dates and registering a birth, death or marriage.

You can call also follow the county council on twitter @lancashirecc, at www.facebook.com/lancashirecc or at https://www.pinterest.com/LancashireCC.
