Paul Nicholas set to star as Ebenezer Scrooge in ‘A Christmas Carol’

Hit musical and a firm family favourite, A Christmas Carol, has been added to the Opera House 2015 season staring Paul Nicholas as Ebenezer Scrooge. The musical produced by Peter Frosdick will open on Friday 4th December 2015 until Sunday 3rd January 2016.

This comes shortly after the announcement of Jesus Christ Superstar with more shows set to be announced over the coming weeks.

The Charles Dickens' classic tale is set to receive the full Broadway treatment by the creative team of Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid) Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) and Mike Okrent (Crazy for You, Me And My Girl).

Called by the New York Times 'A Tonic for Adults' and for children 'A Transfixing Journey' this spectacular musical extravaganza ran for ten years at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Complete with falling snow, exuberant dance sequences and magnificent settings which recreate streets, graveyards and buildings of Dickensian London, this show will appeal to and excite audiences of all ages.

Originating artiste in the lead roles in ‘Cats’ ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and ‘Grease’ Star of stage and screen Paul Nicholas will play the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, star of stage and screen Paul Nicholas will play the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, Paul’s legendary performing career includes a BAFTA nomination, 4 appearances on the Royal Variety Show and a number of UK and worldwide hit singles.
