Eye of the Tigers

23 January 2015

Stunning footage of Blackpool Zoo’s tiger cubs has been released as part of an upcoming series of ‘fly on the wall’ videos of animal life at the zoo.

Filmed with the latest technology, the film shows the two newest additions to the zoo's tiger family up close and personal, exploring their surroundings in their outdoor paddock.

The footage is now live and is available for viewing at ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2cWs39B0HU.

As well as giving viewers the chance to see behind the scenes at Blackpool Zoo, keepers have shared their expertise on the tiger cubs, Barney and Radzi, in a commentary running throughout the short clip.

Adam Kenyon, Section Head of Mammals at Blackpool Zoo, said: "This is the first time we have used this kind of technology so close to the animals and the results are stunning.

"We encourage natural instincts within our animals, so placing food and the camera high in a tree spurred the cubs to climb and hunt like they would in the wild.

"The film really is fantastic and we're looking forward to sharing more footage like this of the other residents at Blackpool Zoo!"
