Spooktacular activities take over Market Walk

6 October 2015

CHILDREN shopping with their parents this October half term will get the chance to take part in some spooky fun at Market Walk, Chorley, with special activities on offer in honour of Halloween.

Following the success of summer family Thursdays, Market Walk shopping centre will once again entertain its younger visitors with a day filled with exciting Halloween themed activities on Thursday 29 October.

From 10am until 4pm, the shopping centre, which is owned and managed by Chorley Council, will be welcoming shoppers with lots of free spooky fun including face painting, arts and crafts workshops with the Creation Station, a balloon modeller plus much more including a competition to guess the weight of the Market Walk pumpkin.

Shops such as B & M and Poundland will be selling Halloween decorations, costumes and sweets, plus there is sure to be some tasty treats on offer at the Pound Bakery and Costa Coffee for parents.

Elsewhere in Chorley town centre, younger shoppers can also take part in a special Halloween treasure hunt on the Covered Market.  Details on the treasure hunt are available from the Market office.

Councillor Peter Wilson, Deputy Leader of Chorley Council, said: “We had great success with our family Thursday fun over the summer, so we want to continue offering our family shoppers even more reasons to visit Market Walk and Chorley town centre during the school holidays.

“Over the last few years Halloween has got bigger and bigger in this country and the shops in Market Walk are really getting into the spirit of the occasion with some great deals.  We wanted to build on that by providing some fun activities for children including the opportunity to get their face painted and make some scary Halloween masks.”

“If you are planning to do some shopping during the October half term, come into Market Walk and have some fun while you shop.”
