Double Delight for Half the Price

27 February 2015

Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre residents can get a double dose of stripey cuteness for half the price at Blackpool Zoo as its annual March Madness celebration takes place between March 1st and March 27th.

For the seventh year running locals with postcodes FY1 to FY8, PR3 and PR4 will be eligible for a 50 per cent admission discount and can take advantage of the special price to catch up with Barney and Radzi the tiger cub twins.

They were a big hit with visitors when they were born last year and are certainly growing up fast. The daring duo spend their days exploring the paddock, climbing trees and teasing mum, Alyona, and dad, Zambar.

Other zoo favourites are ready to welcome their local fans too. The orangutan family are fully settled into their new £1million home and the antics of Meisie and Moanda the young Western Lowland Gorillas always raise a smile.

As March is also one of the busiest months for births, visitors are in for a treat as new babies will be arriving all over the zoo.

Jude Rothwell, Marketing and PR Co-ordinator at Blackpool Zoo, said: “March Madness is one of our favourite times of the year as we can extend a real thank you to local residents.

“As the days get longer and warmer and everyone starts getting outside after the winter months, our half price offer is the perfect opportunity for Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre residents to come and catch up with our animals.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone ahead of what looks set to be another busy year here at Blackpool Zoo.”

Zoo members will also be able to bring accompanying guests to visit the zoo at half price.

Residents wanting to take advantage of the March Madness offer will need to provide a valid form of identification as proof of address such as a recent utility bill or driving licence.

The March Madness discount can be used for up to six people per household but cannot be used in conjunction with family tickets or any other offers.
