Print in’t Mill at Queen Street Mill

11 March 2015

Talented designer Jessica Browning will help people design and create their own tea towel at an evening workshop on Thursday 19 March at Queen Street Mill Textile Museum in Burnley.

At the workshop, 'Print in't Mill', from 6pm to 8pm, visitors will learn how to create a design and print it on to a cotton tea towel that was woven using the historic mill machinery at Queen Street Mill (QSM) .

Jessica, a north-west-based textile designer and heritage print creator, said:" I'm really looking forward to sharing the joy of screen printing with people. I'm busy preparing for the workshop. My cogs of creativity are busy turning!"

Sarah Taylor, Lancashire County Council's museum manager at QSM, said: "This is a superb opportunity to design and print on material that was actually woven here at the mill.

"There should be a great sense of achievement as finished tea towels can be taken home at the end of the workshop."

The cost of the workshop is £8 per person. This includes admission to QSM.

Car parking is free and QSM is fully accessible for disabled visitors, including people with guide dogs.
