Mammoth Mouth Watering May Day Event

6 March 2015

It’s back, it’s free of charge and this year the Lancaster Food and Drink Festival takes place over THREE days.

Over the May Day bank holiday weekend, Lancaster Leisure Park will be transformed into a foodie paradise celebrating all that is delicious in Lancashire and the North West.

Starting at a new time of 3pm, visitors will be able to browse 70 artisan food stalls, street food vendors, respected food retailers, producers, growers and top quality drinks merchants. There’ll be demonstrations, tastings, craft stalls and live music throughout the event too. As well as food to enjoy at the event, there’s also plenty of opportunities to sample a fantastic array of culinary delights and take home specialist produce.

Displays of meats including fish, game and beef sit alongside baked goods such as bread, biscuits and cakes as well as many spices and oils. For refreshment of the liquid variety, there will be a fantastic selection of locally brewed beers, ciders, fruit juices, natural cordials and locally ground coffees to quench your thirst.

The event runs until 9pm each night giving visitors the chance to relax, get something to eat, take in the atmosphere and enjoy the warmer, lighter nights.

This is the first year that the food festival has been run over three days and into the evenings.
Allan Blackburn, Owner and Manager of Lancaster Leisure Park explained the decision. “Last year we couldn’t believe how busy the weekend was. We had 12,000 visitors and at points it was almost too busy. We feel that by spreading the event out over three days, it gives people time to come and go, and enjoy the show at their leisure. Parking will be easier and the event should be more enjoyable for visitors and traders alike”.

With free admission, free parking, free samples and high quality locally produced food and drink, this world class foodie heaven has plenty for any palette.
