Families Flock to Floating Fair

24 April 2015

Record crowds attended a Crafty Vintage fair which was held at Brockholes Nature Reserve last weekend.

The event, now in its 3rd year attracted over 5000 people, with many of the artisan, craft and vintage traders experiencing record sales.

Organiser Laura Johnson said ‘’Once again it’s fantastic to see so many people turn up and support small independent traders. Many had sold out on the first day and had to work through the night in order to re-stock for the second day’’.

As well as magic, face painting and a pop up cocktail bar, the event also featured a vinyl record shop to coincide with national record store day. DJ David Boyle said “It has been great to dust off some of the old classics as well as see several young faces astonished by seeing turntables for the first time. I cant wait for the next one at Hoghton Tower on the 24th of May.’’

Laura is already planning on making the next events at Brockholes even bigger by expanding the events into the late evening. A Burlesque Cabaret show curated by Kikki DeVille has just been added to the line up as well as a performance by top indie band The New York Tourists.
