Victorian Lancashire creative writing workshops

28 May 2015

Talented local author Dorothy Nelson will run a creative writing workshop at Lancashire Archives on Saturday 6 June.

From 1.30pm to 4pm visitors can learn how to bring a story to life using archives relating to Victorian Lancashire as inspiration.

This workshop is part of the Preston Arts Festival 2015 and will be run in partnership with the Preston Arts Association.

Victoria McCann, a Lancashire County Council senior archivist, said: "This is a great opportunity to get some creative writing tips from a published novelist.

"The workshop will give people a personal perspective on the era as we'll be using items from Victorian Lancashire including love letters, police handbills and asylum case books to get the creative juices flowing."

The workshop is free to attend but booking is essential as places are limited.
To book your place telephone 01772 533039 or email [email protected]
