Generating growth with Rosebud Micro

22 June 2015

A Lancashire-based company that develops specialist computer generated imagery has been backed by Rosebud Micro.

Short CGI has received funding and support from Lancashire County Council's Rosebud Micro finance to grow and develop their business.

The Rossendale-based company supports large companies' training and marketing departments with computer generated imagery, animation and interactive materials.

They produce computer generated photo-realistic images of products and developments, to show what they'll look like before they've been created or to replace photography. Their imagery is used for training and marketing purposes.

The funding from Rosebud Micro will go towards new equipment, software and taking on new staff – enabling the company to move into new areas including the creation of imagery for kitchen, bedroom and bathroom interior sets.

Rosebud Micro is accessed through Access2Finance, on behalf of Lancashire County Developments Limited (LCDL) – the county council's economic development department.

County Councillor Niki Penney, chair of LCDL, said: "This is a specialist company, which is using innovative and advanced techniques to provide services for some very big names.

"We're delighted that Rosebud is able to help Short CGI to open up new areas of business and hopefully continue to build on their current success.

"We're looking for ambitious growing businesses, which are based in Lancashire or relocating here. Rosebud Micro could be the answer to unlocking new funding for your business."

Short CGI have been in business since 2008, but the team specialises in technical CGI for aerospace and defense and have been creating ground-breaking training and marketing material for industry leaders for nearly two decades.

Their client list includes major international names like Rolls Royce, BAE Systems and B&Q. They're currently working with BAE Systems in Warton.

Chris Guerin, managing director of Short CGI, said: "We are excited and have big plans in 2015, we feel the market is growing and this is now the time to expand so we can support our existing clients, whilst moving in to new markets of photo-real interiors for the kitchen and bathroom business market."

Through Rosebud Micro, companies in Lancashire could get from £10,000 to £49,000 to support their plans. This can be matched with other finance and used to help to attract other sources of funding.

As well as funding your growth ideas, Rosebud Micro also includes complimentary support and advice that's tailored to the needs of your business.

Rosebud Micro is aimed at growing business in these key high-growth sectors – creative and digital; finance and professional; energy and environment; aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Rosebud Micro can link you in with other support services related to your business including universities, UKTI, the London Stock Exchange, Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, Boost, The Design Council, Access2Finance and district councils.
