Farmers Arms team celebrate award win with new courtyard

11 August 2015

Staff and customers at the Farmers Arms in the market village of Great Eccleston have celebrated being named the joint regional winner in a prestigious industry award with the launch of a revamped outdoor courtyard.

The Seafood Pub Company, owners of the Farmers Arms, have invested in an extended courtyard area for customers with new seating and heated awnings and canopies.

Regular customers and local businesses were invited to a garden party to mark the opening of the new outdoor area and also to celebrate the pub being named as the Joint Regional Winner in the Best Bar Team at the Great British Pub Awards.

“We had a great night launching our new courtyard with customers and the local business community,” said Jason Crowder-Barton, general manager at the Farmers Arms.

“As part of the Seafood Pub Company we pride ourselves on serving customers the finest seafood from the Fylde Coast and meat from local farms on our menus, but we also like to encourage customers to try something new when it comes to drinks. There is now no better place to enjoy both this summer than in our new courtyard!”

The team at the Farmers Arms impressed the Great British Pub Awards judges with details of their investment in the new beer garden as well as their extensive range of over 20 different gin and tonics, many served exclusively in Lancashire at the Great Eccleston venue. It also serves a wide range of beers and ciders and stocks an extensive range of soft drinks which offer customers the opportunity to try something different than in many other pubs.

Jason added: “The extensive product knowledge of our team really stood out to the judges as well as how much our customers enjoy hearing about the reasons we stock certain drinks or brands. It is fantastic recognition for our team to be shortlisted in this industry award and we are looking forward to attending the awards ceremony in September to see if we can go one step further and win the national title.

“In the meantime, we’d love to celebrate with customers old and new with a drink or meal in our new beer garden!”

The Great British Pub Awards will be held at The Hilton, Park Lane in London on 10th September.
