Lewis Schaffer is…Free Until Famous

27 August 2015

Critically acclaimed New York comedian Lewis Schaffer hops from Edinburgh to Blackpool this September where he will be Free Until Famous!

Comedy lovers from far and wide have been watching one of New York’s most established comedians strut his stuff at the Edinburgh Fringe, to rave reviews. But on Tuesday 1 September, Lewis Schaffer brings his current stand-up show Free Until Famous to Blackpool Grand for one night only.

But this is a great night out with an unusual twist. Those who love a good laugh can book two tickets per household absolutely free to see Schaffer in action, with a voluntary collection taking place at the end of the show.

Why not make an evening of it and treat yourself to a meal at Pizza Express Blackpool, where ticketholders can get 20% off food before the show. (Valid on food only at Pizza Express Blackpool, 1 September; subject to availability. T&Cs apply)

The acclaimed New York comic has been based in the UK for the past fifteen years, and now he has some things to get off his chest and share with his new audience.  According to Schaffer, following a short visit to London in 2000 he was held ‘hostage’ in the UK, when love and marriage went horribly wrong and gave him children, divorce and heartache.
Lewis Schaffer is everything you expect from a long-established comic from the home of comedy, New York. Combining the comedy genes of Joan Rivers and Jackie Mason with the relevance of Britain’s freshest comedians, Free Until Famous is guaranteed to be the bright spot in your week.

Lewis Schaffer has all the credentials of a top comic. Not only was he the house compere of the Comedy Cellar and the Boston Comedy Club in New York, in London he has the longest-running residency at the prestigious Leicester Square Theatre. He is also the regular MC of Peter Cook's Establishment Club, and is the star of Nunhead American Radio on Resonance FM London.

With a free-wheeling style that is often described as ‘jazzy’, every Schaffer show is different, but all are equally as thrilling. So if you love to laugh out loud, it’s time to fasten your seat belts and book your tickets as Lewis Schaffer is Free Until Famous.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to catch Lewis Schaffer fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe at Blackpool Grand on Tuesday 1 September. Bookers can get 2 tickets per household (subject to availability) but these must be booked in advance through the box office on 01253 290190 or via blackpoolgrand.co.uk.
