Superstar Professor Green and Little Boots added to iFest!

Professor Green and Little Boots are the latest huge names to be added to an absolutely stacked line-up for VisitBlackpool’s 2015 Blackpool iFest Friday night switch-on event.

The pair complete a line-up which is now unquestionably one of the most superstar-loaded cards ever put on at switch-on night.

London-born rapper, singer songwriter and hip-hop superstar, Professor Green, is one of THE biggest names on the UK music scene.

His three studio albums have all proved hugely popular, been widely critically acclaimed and he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in UK music like Lily Allen, Tinchy Stryder, Miles Kane and Rizzle Kicks.

His 2011 collaboration with Emily Sandé, “Read All About It” stormed the charts to number one.

A multiple award winner at the MOBO, Urban Music and NME Awards, amongst many others, he has more than two million followers on both Facebook and Twitter,

Blackpool’s very own pop superstar, Little Boots, meanwhile is an electropop superstar performer, singer and a world renowned DJ.

With three fantastic studio albums to her name she has received huge critical acclaim scored massive hits with “Remedy” and “New in Town”.
Her latest album “Working Girl” is out now.

Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the line-up for our Friday night switch-on night which is undoubtedly one of the most star-studded, if not THE most star-studded line-up, we’ve ever had.

“Given the enormous popularity of so many of the names it’s sure to be incredibly popular.

“We are delighted that Little Boots is part of this year’s line-up. She is a fantastic example of home-grown talent.

“People can enter our ticket ballot at www.visitblackpool.com/switchon until August 3 but the only way to guarantee yourself entry is to be one of the first 5,000 people to buy a full weekend pass.

“That also grants you access to two fantastic shows on Saturday and Sunday giving people three nights of top class entertainment for just £30.

“I would urge people to snap up their weekend passes now.”

Professor Green and Little Boots are added as special guest stars to a line-up headlined by superstar band, The Vamps, and featuring special guests Lawson, Toploader, Only the Young and Becky Hill.

The special guest Switch-On star will be confirmed soon.

The Friday night Switch-On kicks off an exciting weekend of events at the Blackpool Tower Festival Headland between Friday 4 and Sunday 6 September with something for everyone to enjoy.

The Saturday night of the Blackpool iFest weekend will feature a line-up of chart-topping pop stars in association with Sky’s Vintage TV channel.

The line-up includes Bananarama, Jason Donovan and Paul Young, and will be hosted by TV and radio star, Pat Sharp.

Then on Sunday, some of the coolest names in British comedy will take to the stage, with one of the most recognisable and successful comics in the UK, Al Murray – The Pub Landlord, hosting and headlining the show alongside the likes of Chris Ramsey, Alun Cochrane, Tiff Stevenson, Carl Hutchinson and Craig Campbell.

Tickets, priced at £15 for each of the Saturday and Sunday shows, and are on sale now and a £30 weekend festival pass is also on sale.

The first 5,000 people to buy a £30 weekend festival pass will guarantee themselves free entry to the big Friday night switch-on.

A ballot to win the remaining 15,000 tickets for the FREE Friday night event is also now open at www.visitblackpool.com/switchon with a maximum of four tickets per household available so register now!

To ensure everyone is in with a chance to win a ticket for Friday’s Switch-On, VisitBlackpool have extended the registration until Monday 3 August at 9am so register now.

Last year, around 80,000 people applied for tickets to attend the spectacular Friday night event which featured an incredible line-up of stars including Britain’s biggest girl band, Little Mix, Pixie Lott, Union J, George Ezra and the big Switch-On by superstar comedian, Peter Kay.
