The Seaside Returns to Blackburn for the Summer

3 August 2015

An artificial beach which attracted hundreds of families last year has been welcomed back by the Blackburn BID as it returns to Town Hall Square with sand filled fun and frolics.

The Blackburn Beach, organised by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, runs throughout August and has a whole host of activities for children including, fun rides, water balls, coconut climbing and a minion themed giant inflatable slide.

Manager of the Blackburn BID, Harriet Roberts, said: “We welcome this installation by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council as a measure to attract visitors into the town centre over the summer. The ‘Blackburn Beach’ will be a fun-filled, family friendly few weeks that will give people a chance to come together to enjoy themselves.”

The beach, which comes with its own deckchairs, buckets and spades is free to the public with other chargeable attractions.

Blackburn beach closes to the public on Monday, 31 August.
