Crafty Vintage to Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland

9 September 2015

Renowned Lancashire events company, Crafty Vintage has announced that its next event, which will be held at Hoghton Tower on the 26th and 27th of September, will see a special appearance from characters from Alice in Wonderland, to mark the book’s 150th anniversary.

The popular event will feature an array of family attractions, such as crafts, food, face painting and magic shows, as well as playing host to a special Mad Hatters Tea Party, attended by Alice in Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts and of course, the Mad Hatter himself.

More than simply tea and cakes, the fun-filled tea party will involve singing and dancing, games and story-time, enough to captivate the whole family. Situated in a themed marquee, within the gardens of Hoghton Tower, this is a party not to be missed.

The weekend will also welcome back an eclectic mix of over 50 of Crafty Vintage’s regular and much-loved designers, craftspeople and artisans offering their unique, vintage and retro wares. In addition there will be homemade delicacies from around the globe, a cocktail bar, children’s fun, music – not forgetting the amazing atmosphere, which has been perfected by Crafty Vintage over the years.

Crafty Vintage Event Director, Dan Johnson commented “We’re thrilled to be hosting yet another event at Hoghton Tower. We always receive such a good reception there and it is the perfect setting for a Crafty Vintage event. It’s a real family event, with something for everyone, from the foodie and the craft-lover to the children and those people who just want to come along and soak up the atmosphere.

“We are even more delighted to welcome Councillor Marion Lowe, the Mayoress of Chorley, to the event. Councillor Lowe will be attending the event on Saturday the 26th of September at 12pm and we’re really grateful to receive support on the day, from such a recognised local figure.”

The Crafty Vintage event will take place on the 26th and 27th of September, from 10am until 5pm (last entry 4pm) at Houghton Tower, and will be supported by local businesses Skiddle.com, Events Live and Your Princess Party and Friends.
