Pendle Vision Board is thrilled that Pendle is once again being highlighted as a hotspot for success and innovation.

This comes after Barnoldswick’s Silentnight Group is placed 199th in the twelfth annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table.

The league table ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales and Silentnight, with sales of £137m, is one of four Lancashire companies to be included this year.

Dennis Mendoros, Chairman of Pendle Vision Board, said: “It’s fantastic to see Silentnight, a local company which has been trading from Barnoldswick since 1949, included in this year’s Sunday Times Top Track 250.

“All of the companies in the list are described as making a strong contribution to the local economy.

“We know we have some of the most successful businesses in the UK right here on our doorstep but it’s great to have it recognised independently once again.”

Carl Williams, Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP, the title sponsor of the league table, praised the companies for their performance.

He said: "In the wake of the EU referendum it is more important than ever that businesses and the public and the third sectors work together to help the UK to build on its strengths and ensure that the economy continues to grow.

“I am heartened to see how these businesses are embracing a collaborative approach to drive prosperity throughout the UK and wider society.”
