Enjoy Christmas in Blackpool this festive season

Oh yes it is! Christmas in Blackpool is bigger and better than ever with a whole sleigh-load of entertainment over the festive period.
 
The resort is hosting a huge range of family favourites from pantomimes, shows and concerts to shopping, Santa’s Grotto, ice skating and discounted parking offers.
 
Here are just some of the things for all the family to enjoy:
A little taste of festive cheer
Blackpool town centre launches Christmas with a full day of entertainment for all the family. Take a trip to St John’s square on Saturday 19th November between 10.30 and 5pm where a you’ll be wowed by a host of local acts and entertainment with plenty of festive fun and games, magicians and food and craft fair, it’s not to be missed!
 
The day is in aid of Trinity Hospice and BBC Children In Need and all donations received will be very welcome for these two really worthy causes.

Take an illuminated  tour
On 19th November why not take a tour of our stunning Blackpool Promenade on an illuminated tram! Tours from between 12noon and 4pm, every 30 minutes from pleasure Beach – North Pier- Cabin – Bispham.

It’s snow joke Santa’s really coming…
Come and watch Santa’s arrival at the Houndshill on Saturday 3rd December, follow him  as he makes his way through the town from Coronation Street, down to Victoria Street, along Bank Hey Street and finishing up on Adelaide Street. Visit Santa in his festive grotto everyday throughout December and the week of Christmas between 10am-4pm, you can also post your Christmas list up until 21st December.

Ever fancied being Santa Claus for the day?
Here’s your chance, let the whole family ready for the Blackpool Santa Dash 2016 in aid of Trinity Hospice. They supply the Santa suits; make your way down to the Sandcastle Waterpark for a short walk to Central Pier and back singing Christmas songs all the way!

The Snowman is coming to Blackpool Tower this Christmas

Join Blackpool Tower this December 18th for the musical masterpiece The Snowman, brought to you by Carrot Productions and following on from their highly acclaimed 33 performance tour last December, are once again visiting The Blackpool Tower to share their Snowman magic.

Hear some of the UK's top musicians perform Howard Blake's beautiful soundtrack – including the evocative 'Walking in the Air' – in perfect synchronicity with the film shown on the big screen. As a special treat in the first half of the performance there will be a brand new re-telling of the classic fairytale, Cinderella, for narrator and orchestra.

Christmas Parking
Take advantage of discounted parking fees this Christmas and make a start on that Christmas shopping!  With parking only £1 from 5pm at selected Council Car Parks and Houndshill Shopping Centre* there has never been a better excuse to visit the town centre this festive period.
 
*Council Car Parks – West Street, East Topping Street, Central and Talbot Multi Storey Car Parks. Thursdays in December include 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Sundays starting 27th November and then including 4th, 11th and 18th of Dec. £1 parking 5pm-Midnight.*Houndshill Shopping Centre – Thursdays only. 24th Nov, 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd December. £1 parking after 5pm on Thursdays.
 
Cllr Gillian Campbell, Deputy Leader of Blackpool Council, said: “Blackpool town centre is the place to be this festive season. There are new restaurants to try along with a fantastic line-up of free entertainment hosted by the BID.
 
“Once again this year we have reduced our parking charges on Thursday nights and Sundays to encourage as many people as possible to visit Blackpool’s vast array of shops, restaurants and theatres.”
 
And don’t forget that many of Blackpool’s big visitor attractions are open throughout including Blackpool Zoo, SEA LIFE, Madame Tussaud’s, Illuminasia and the Comedy Carpet. The world famous Blackpool Tower, the Tower Dungeon and Sandcastle Waterpark will be open on selected dates, and watch out for Santa’s special tram on the promenade.
 
And if you fancy an evening of glitz and glamour why not head down to The Sands Venue where you are promised a spectacular evening, or let your hair down at Viva or Funny Girls for their fabulous Christmas shows.
