Stunning Stonyhurst Hosts Food & Drink Festival

Set in the grounds of the magnificent grade 1 listed building, the college near Clitheroe in Lancashire provides a stunning venue for a Food & Drink Festival.  The event to be held for three days between the 8th April to the 10th April opens its gates at 10am each day. 

The Great British Food Festival organizers have added on a number of new attractions for 2016, organiser, Daniel Maycock said: "We really enjoyed last Easter holidays here at Stonyhurst and we are back bigger than ever. We’ve added a BBQ demo area and cooking from a camper demos, as well as even more tasty street food and top producers. Again this year we are incorporating the popular Stonyhurst Spring Fayre so there will also be lots of gift and craft stalls inside the college as well.’
 
Amongst the attractions, visitors will be able to watch a number of local and celebrity chefs demonstrate signature dishes and bakes.  Chefs from the local area include Patrick Beaume from the award winning Cartford Inn and Maurizo Bocchi from regional tourism award winning restaurant La Locanda.  For lovers of the BBC's Great British Bake Off, Luis Troyano finalist from 2014 who will be sharing his baking passion.  There are some surprise demo appearances also planned, so ‘watch this space’ says Daniel.
 
For anyone who loves BBQ's, Tony Smith finalist of ITV's 'BBQ Champ' will be running demonstrations throughout the weekend giving tips of how to get the most flavour from  barbecued food.  Tony has a very successful street food and catering company 'Man Meat Fire' specialising in US style low and slow smoked barbecue and Southern Soul food which you can sample over the weekend.
 
Bakers will also have the chance to enter the Cake Off held at 1.30pm each day.  Enter your cake to win a fabulous prize and get free entry into the show.
 
Children will have the opportunity to learn new cookery skills in the Kids Cookery Classes which can be booked online or on the day at the Information Point for £3.50 per child. Friday the 8th is also ‘kids come free day’ so it’s a great way to entertain the family for the Easter Holidays.
 
It goes without saying that there will also be a variety of great food and drink exhibitors show casing a range of delicious local and regional products.
