Shakespeare’s anniversary recognised at the Judges’ Lodgings Museum

21 April 2016

Lancaster's Judges' Lodgings Museum will be recognising the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death with themed family activities on Saturday 23 April.

The activities include a fun trail to find Shakespeare-related objects hidden around the museum, and a Shakespeare quiz.

Word searches, crosswords and colouring will also be available for visitors to enjoy.

Anthea Purkis, Lancashire County Council's Museum Manager at the Judges' Lodgings Museum, said: "We've lined up some entertaining activities for families to celebrate Shakespeare on the 400th anniversary of his death, on his actual birthday, on what is England's national day as well. Children will be able to learn, as well as have lots of fun."

The activities are free, but admission to the Judges' Lodgings Museum costs £3 for adults and £2 for concessions. Children under the age of 16 go free when accompanied by an adult. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There is no need to book in advance.

Opening times are 1pm to 4pm Monday to Friday and 12pm to 4pm on Saturday.
