Call for Burnley residents’ photographs of The Queen for birthday exhibition

5 April 2016

Lancashire County Council is asking people in Burnley if they have any photographs of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's visits to Burnley, to include in a special birthday exhibition.

The photographs will feature in a display at Burnley Library from Thursday 12 May to Thursday 30 June to celebrate The Queen's 90th birthday.

Lancashire County Council's head of libraries service, Julie Bell, said: "It would be great if people would let us copy any photographs they have of previous visits made by The Queen to Burnley in 1955, 1968 and 2012.

"This milestone birthday is certainly something to celebrate and we're urging as many people as possible to get involved."

Original photographs should be taken to the library on Grimshaw Street before 3pm on Friday 29 April to be photocopied for inclusion in the display. The photographer will be credited.

Anyone who lives in the UK can join a Lancashire library, either online or by visiting in person. Membership is free and there are no age restrictions.
