Lancashire Hotspots event to put spotlight on West Lancashire

Thursday, 26th May 2016

Businesses are being urged to attend the Lancashire Hotspots event taking place on 9 June from 8am – 10am at Lancashire Manor Hotel, to discover what the opportunities are in West Lancashire for business including skills, investment, ambition and collaboration.

This Lancashire Hotspots event, sponsored by West Lancashire Borough Council, is the third of a series taking place around the county during 2016. It will link directly to the Lancashire Hotspots feature in the July-August edition of Lancashire Business View magazine where the focus will be on West Lancashire.

It will be a question time-style panel event featuring leading business and public sector guests. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network with the movers and shakers of the area over breakfast plus interaction with the panel during Q and A.

Kim Webber, Chief Executive of West Lancashire Borough Council will take part in a short Q and A before a debate with panel members including Maria Gilling, principal, West Lancashire College; Andy Wood, HR director, Trelleborg Offshore UK; Steve Jones, managing director, Fairbanks and Councillor Frank Mckenna, West Lancashire Borough Council’s Economic Development Champion.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine said: “Lancashire Hotspots will take a closer look at the county’s hottest spots for commerce, industry and regeneration.

“It offers perspectives from the across the landscape of the private and public sectors and delves into the business fabric of the county’s districts.

“This Lancashire Hotspots event is the third of a series which will take place around the county in 2016. We look forward to giving attendees an overview of what’s happening in the West Lancashire area and promoting everything that the region has to offer.”

Councillor McKenna said: “West Lancashire is a great place to do business and this event will provide an excellent showcase of what is available for businesses in the borough.

“West Lancashire Borough Council is happy to sponsor this occasion. The Council Plan shows we are ambitious for the local economy and we are committed to retaining and growing jobs, increasing skills levels and encouraging business and wealth creation.”
