Be a TV star at Lytham Festival

18 July 2016

Budding TV presenters are being invited to become stars of this year’s Lytham Festival.
For the first time in its history, Lytham Festival will be hosting its very own online TV channel – LF:TV – throughout the week-long event.

LF:TV will broadcast from venues throughout Lytham from August 1 – 7 keeping both festival and music fans up-to-date on all the latest backstage gossip and interviews with artists.

North West TV entertainment reporter Caroline Whitmore will host LF:TV but she needs a co-presenter.

And that position is available to someone aged between 18 and 25.

Could it be you?

All would-be presenters need to do is record a 30-second video clip of themselves saying why they are perfect for the role, post it to Facebook tagging Lytham Festival and send it to [email protected] with their name, age and address by Monday July 25.

Speaking about LF:TV Caroline, who has been ITV Granada Reports Entertainment Correspondent for 11 years, said: “I am thrilled to be hosting Lytham Festival’s first ever TV channel.

“The festival grows from strength to strength every year with this year’s line-up looking absolutely amazing. What I love about it is that it brings huge stars such as Noel Gallagher and Bryan Adams to Lytham every year alongside up-and-coming talent like The Lottery Winners and then classical recitals too.

“I really can’t wait for everything to kick-off on August 1 and to be working alongside a co-presenter who could potentially be the next big TV reporter.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for all would-be TV news and entertainment reporters and I look forward to seeing what talent is out there.”

Artists at Lytham this year range from Bryan Adams, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Village People and Collabro to a host of West End Stars, The Lottery Winners, Matt Cardle and Nina Conti. In all there are more than 30 live events taking place across the Festival’s seven stages so would-be TV reporters need to be prepared to be busy.

Lytham Festival Director Peter Taylor added: “We are thrilled to be launching LF:TV for this year’s Lytham Festival and to have Caroline on-board as our host is brilliant.

“She has interviewed an enormous range of stars and celebrities over the years and is the perfect person to be doing this.

“We also want to give someone else the chance to show off their presenting skills too. This is a golden opportunity for the right person to gain fantastic experience while also having a really fun time.

“It will be busy though as we have a lot of acts over a lot of stages and Caroline’s perfect co-presenter is going to have to be prepared to do a lot of running around!”

For your chance to be the co-presenter of LF:TV post a 30-second video clip of yourself saying why you are perfect for the role to Facebook tagging Lytham Festival and email it, along with your name, age and address, to [email protected] by Monday July 25.
