High Fives for Crafty Vintage Fair!

19 September 2016

The organiser behind a hugely popular craft and vintage fair in Lancashire is celebrating five years in business, as trade continues to flourish. The next event takes place at Brockholes Nature Reserve, Nr Preston this weekend, 24th and 25th September.

Owner Laura Johnson launched Crafty Vintage as a pilot project five years ago at a Church Hall in Whalley.

Now 5 years later the fairs regularly attract between 3000 and 6000 visitors each time with around 80 traders on average. The event has continually expanded throughout the years with many new independent businesses coming on board.

During the weekend a local pizza maker bring their wood fired oven to offer freshly made food to shoppers, while a pop up bar serves up a bespoke menu of cocktails and craft beers.

Other street food traders include waffles, go go dumplings and traditional english fayre, while along the artisan row you’ll find a mouthwatering selection of chutneys, cheeses, chocolates and olives.

Laura added: “I set up the first fair way back in 2011, not quite certain of the reception we would receive in the Lancashire area.
“As it turned out, the response to the first event far exceeded my expectations, so much so that I immediately began looking for larger venues”.

Taking place this weekend on the floating village at Brockholes, the fair specialises in vintage goods as well as crafted gifts typically designed and made by the person serving you.

From furniture, décor, homeware, vintage fashions, jewellery, and antiques, the traders are hand picked to ensure there is a good selection on offer.

“To add to the atmosphere, there’ll be musicians live on stage throughout the weekend including Dani Gallagher, Matt Wells and Chris Hinnigan plus DJ’s on vinyl” Laura said.
