Bertram’s Restaurant spreads festive goodwill to Burnley residents.

MEMBERS of the Burnley Wood Community group and Coal Clough Residents Association were treated to free festive lunches last week at Bertram’s Restaurant.

Thursday saw 33 members of the Burnley Wood Community group attend, whilst 40 members of the Coal Clough Residents Association on Friday.

Diners enjoyed a three course meal that started with Leek and Potato Soup with Homemade Rosemary Bread; followed by a Roast Chicken or Turkey dinner with roast gravy; and finished off with a dessert of Sticky Toffee Pudding or Vanilla Ice Cream.

Crow Wood Managing Director, Andrew Brown, said: “It was a great pleasure to be able to entertain some of the senior members of community last week.

“Spencer Burge, our head chef and his team, did a great job in putting on a delicious menu and all our guests seemed to have a very pleasant lunch.

“Considering the lifetime of contributions that our senior citizens have made, it felt very appropriate to do something to demonstrate our gratitude.

“We worked closely with our colleagues from Burnley Council and I’d like to thank them for organising the transport for both groups.”

The event was also attended by Burnley Council leader, Councillor Mark Townsend, who said: “This has been a wonderful gesture on behalf of Crow Wood. I’m sure everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed their meal and it was a lovely way to start off the New Year.”
