It’s Grand to be in Lancashire #LancashireDay

16 November 2017

We know it’s grand to be in Lancashire and over the next few weeks and on Lancashire Day itself, Monday 27 November, we’d like your help to spread the word by sharing what’s ‘grand’ about Lancashire history, culture and people, with the rest of the world.

Whether you have a favourite ‘grand day out’, ‘grand view’ or ‘grand dinner’ we’d like to see and share your photos and comments on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  Together we’ll get #LancashireDay trending and engage with fellow Lancastrians all over the world; reminding them of our amazing food & drink, historic locations, beauty-spots and landmarks, and the warm welcome that awaits anyone visiting our county.

In 2016 #LancashireDay reached a potential 60 million people and connected with 924 locations across the world, with Lancastrians sending messages from as far afield as Canada and New Zealand and greetings from an array of well-known fans including: West End star Jodie Prenger; TV historian Dan Snow; Olympian cyclist Steven Burke and Opera Singer, Alfie Boe to name just a few.

You can start to add your images now by using #LancashireDay on Twitter and by tagging @visitlancashire in your Facebook or Instagram posts.

All those that share their images and comments will be included in a Grand VIP prize draw to win an overnight stay for 2 adults at the award-winning Hipping Hall, which includes a 5-course tasting menu dining experience, as well as a year’s supply of Lancashire cheese from award-winning cheesemaker, Dewlay and a one year subscription to Lancashire Life Magazine. On the day itself a number of fabulous spot prizes will also be awarded.

Head of PR and Communications at Marketing Lancashire, Anna Izza said
“We’re proud to champion #LancashireDay and hope that more people than ever will join this annual celebration dedicated to our wonderful county. Over 67 million visitors come here every year and probably only see a fraction of what the county has to offer.  The activity around #LancashireDay helps highlight some of our hidden gems, the places we as locals know and love but perhaps might be missed on a short visit to the county.

“Each year we find new places to visit, new views and locations to explore thanks to the hundreds of images and messages posted using #LancashireDay. It’s a virtual guide to Lancashire, curated by the people who know it best.

“A whole host of events take place across the county around Lancashire Day and we’re happy to share these through our social media channels. Whether it’s a cultural, culinary, business or family-fun day out, be creative in your posts and tweets, be proud and share what’s ‘grand’ about Lancashire on #LancashireDay.”
