Attention film makers – Shorts at the Seaside

24 November 2017

The Regent Cinema is to host it’s first film festival ‘Shorts at the Seaside’ next May.

The festival will be held on the 20th May and is open to students and all film makers.  There will be 3 categories with the main theme of the festival being deckchair based short films.

Festival organiser Carole Moran commented, “It’s a great opportunity for film makers to see their film on the big screen, not to mention the £100 first prize for each category”.

There are 3 categories;

Category 1 – Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged under 25 on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.

Category 2 – Short films between 2 and 10 minutes for people aged 25 or over on the day of the festival. Films must show a deckchair in them for at least 20 seconds.

Category 3 – Short films between 2 and 10 minutes. This category is open to any age range and any theme.

All categories will be shortlisted down to 6 and shown on the day with a winner chosen by a panel of judges.

There will also be guest speakers from the film industry who will talk about their experiences and answer any questions.

The day of the event will be open to anyone to attend with free entry.

There is a small charge of £5 for each film entry which can be made at
