The Great British Food Festival returns to Stonyhurst this April

2 February 2017

The rather great, Great British Food Festival is back at the lovely Stonyhurst College, near Clitheroe from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd April. Set in the grounds of the magnificent grade 1 listed building, the college in Lancashire provides a stunning venue for a Food & Drink Festival.  The event to be held for three days between Friday 21th April and Sunday 23rd April, with the gates opening at 10am each day.

The Great British Food Festival organisers are offering free kids entry on the Friday, organiser, Daniel Maycock said: "It's a real family foodie day out so as it's still school holidays for a lot of people we thought we'd let the kids in for free, so there is no excuse to get them off the Playstations and to come and try some great food at this amazing venue.' Daniel added, 'We really enjoyed last Easter holidays here at Stonyhurst and we are back bigger than ever. We’ve added more hot food, Bowland Brewery will be down with their real ale bus, and we have some great gift and craft stalls along with all our lovely food and drink producers'.

Amongst the attractions, visitors will be able to watch a number of local and celebrity chefs demonstrate signature dishes and bakes.  Chefs from the local area will be involved alongside stars of the Great British Cake Off.

Any budding bakers will also have the chance to enter the 'Cake Off' held at 1.30pm each day. Simply register online and bring your cake along for it to be judged and you could win a fabulous Kenwood spiraliser!

It goes without saying that there will be a variety of great food and drink exhibitors show casing a range of delicious local and regional products. So you can grab a tasty lunch and listen to great live music all in a stunning setting – sounds like the perfect day out!
