New swimming pool at Ribby Hall Village to open April

16 March 2017

Five-star Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire is excited to announce it’s new family swimming pool will open this April. The new tropical island themed family pool, complete with interactive water features, themed children’s splash zone, unique water slides, huge palm trees plus there is even a real thatched feature Tiki Hut as well as a new adult only heat experience area which will include a large new Sauna, Steam room and feature showers all of which will be open in time for Easter.

The modern lagoon style pool has been built on the site of the old family pool and the design has been considered to incorporate facilities to maximise enjoyment for the whole family. The open splash lagoon in shallow waters will encourage smaller children to enjoy the water with plenty to stimulate and encourage interaction. The water slides have been designed to appeal to all children with racer slides and a large interactive flume which will actually take riders outside of the building over the roof and back in during which they can take part in an interactive reaction game which will give each rider a personal score and a photograph of them riding the slide. The rider can then chose to upload this directly to their social media account from the poolside on an interactive touch screen.

The main contractor is World Leisure a specialist design, technical and installation company. IMD & Associates have overseen the overall design concept which brings about the whole transformation including improvements to the shower facilities and refurbished disabled changing facilities alongside the introduction of a poolside hoist making access easier for all.

All of the pool plant has been replaced with a state of the art air and water heating system being installed as well as advanced filtration equipment including UV filtration to ensure perfect water quality for guests to enjoy.

The new pool is just the latest in a series of installations at Ribby Hall Village to improve the holiday experience. Last year The Village opened Wild Discovery a hands-on interactive animal attraction enabling children to get up close with the animal kingdom. The Activity Hub, installed in 2016 provides children with an activity centre with a soft play zone and a designated activity area where they can sign up for everything from art classes to ballet lessons.

Also opening in 2017 is a new outdoor play area in addition to The Village’s popular large outdoor Adventure Playground. The themed children’s play ship with slides and climbing frames for younger children will also open in time for Easter. Located by The Tapas Bar & Restaurant the play area will be easily accessible so children can enjoy safe play under the watchful eye of mum and dad from The Tapas Bar & Restaurants’ alfresco dining area.
