Shoppers raise £5949.37 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

6 June 2017

Kind-hearted shoppers at The Mall Blackburn have helped raise almost £6,000 for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Over £3,400 was collected from volunteers’ buckets over the past 12 months and over £2,500 was totted up from the distinctive life-size dog collection points across the shopping centre.

A cheque was presented to a host of volunteers from The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association by The Mall’s management team on Friday 2nd June while live guide dog demonstrations took place throughout the day.

Loraine Jones, General Manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: “The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association really is a fabulous cause so we were delighted to present a cheque to the team for such an amazing amount thanks to our extremely generous shoppers.

“The live demonstrations were fantastic to watch and really educational – I for one learnt so much more about the wonderful work the charity does day in, day out.”

The money raised will go towards the training and care of the dogs that provide life-changing mobility for the blind and partially sighted.
