Burnley Business Week in its sixth year supporting local businesses

Supporting Burnley businesses and their growth is a top priority for Burnley Council who are running the sixth annual Burnley Business Week from the 9th to the 13th October 2017 – a week of FREE seminars, training sessions, and masterclasses run by business experts to help businesses grow and to help those who may have a passion to start their own business make it a reality.

Business Week is organised by Burnley Council, in partnership with business support agencies, to offer the latest advice and guidance on a range of business areas, and there will be something to help all types and all sizes of business.

Sessions booked in to date include: Advertising and the Power of Persuasive Writing, Business Basics for new start businesses, Corporate and Social Responsibility in the workplace, Network with confidence, R&D Tax Credits: Save your business money, Increasing profits with email marketing, Princes Trust Enterprise Programme, implementing GDPR compliance, Cloud Accounting, Design Principles, Winning Business on Social Media and Impact Engagement Across Your Business

Councillor Sue Graham, Burnley Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration & Economic Development said: “This is the sixth Business Week the council has organised in partnership with business support agencies and business sponsors, offering a wide range of support and advice sessions packed in to one dedicated business week. There will be something to help all types and all sizes of business, as well as expert advice for people thinking of starting their own business.

Adding: “Burnley was recently named a leading business friendly town, ranking a fantastic 11th place in the UK, as we recognise the importance of our businesses and that their success impacts on the prosperity of the town. Burnley is becoming well known for having a pro-active council and Bondholder Scheme when it comes to supporting our businesses, and Business Week is part of that package of support.”

Mark Heaton, Director, KM Accountants, local supporter of the event said: “Business Week is important in providing business leaders with information and practical ways to enable them to discover solutions to their commercial challenges. We are looking forward to hosting a session to give back something to the town is a thank you for the support that Burnley Council have given to KM.”
