Year of celebrations planned as Individual Inns named Pub Group of the Year

3 January 2018

Individual Inns, who own and operate six country inns across the North of England, are planning a year of celebrations, having been named Pub Group of the Year 2018 by The Good Pub Guide.

The group, which includes The Spread Eagle, Sawley and The Tempest Arms, Elslack, scooped the prestigious national award after beating off stiff competition from the best pub operators across the UK. Judges selected Individual Inns for their consistent excellence as well
as from feedback from customers and users of the Good Pub guide.

To celebrate the achievement, the group have planned a year-long programme for customers, including short stay giveaways, complimentary treats and the launch of a new loyalty scheme.
The group is privately owned and headed up by Ewan Harries, Managing Director and Martin Clarkson, Retail Director.

Ewan Harries said:

“We are absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award.  ‘The Good Pub Guide’ provides the benchmark for quality in our industry!  It is fantastic to receive this recognition which is testament to all the hard work and dedication from our Managers and teams at each site every day.”

The group acquired its first inn – The Tempest Arms – in 2005 and now operates six country inns across the North, including The Fountaine Inn at Linton in Craven, The Spread Eagle at Sawley, The Wheatley near Ilkley, The Mason’s Arms at Cartmel Fell and The Wheatsheaf Inn, Brigsteer, near Kendal.
