Conversations in Creativity: Design Disruptors

14 February 2018

An exclusive premiere screening of the documentary ‘Design Disruptors’ takes place this week as part of the University of Central Lancashire’s School of Art, Design & Fashion’s 7th Conference Week.

This is part of Creative Lancashire’s popular long-running series of Conversations in Creativity. This event is supported by the UCLAN Innovation Zone.

Held in association with South Ribble-based creative agency Forepoint, the screening will be held on Thursday 15 February, 6pm to 9.30pm (screening starts at 6.30pm) in The Arts Space at the New Continental in Preston.

Design Disruptors reveals a never seen before perspective on the design approaches of more than 15 industry-shaking companies, and how they’re using the power of design to disrupt billion dollar industries.

The film chronicles the true nature of design, and the design-driven business revolutions being shaped around the world.

Ed Matthews-Gentle from Creative Lancashire said: “The role of the designer and design business is constantly evolving, fuelled by technological change and new models that disrupts the point of entry, where design thinking and tools can make a difference.

“This film provides numerous examples of this new dynamic being played in real situations. This is a must see for anyone working in a design-related role and provides a real insight and context for the role of the creative industries’ skills in business.”

The screening will be followed by industry Q&A with Keith Noble, director of Forepoint; Kevin Darton, designer and lecturer from the University of Central Lancashire; and Natasha Sandoval, Vice President of Marketing for international technologies company Scandit.
