Recruitment & Skills Survey

5 August 2015

The strength of any business lies in its workforce. However, with 78% of businesses in the UK reporting recruitment difficulties in the last year, employers are struggling to access the skills they need to keep their company running on full power.

At the same time, 1 in 5 vacancies in the UK are difficult to fill because of a lack of the right skills in the labour market. With the labour market leaking talent businesses are forced to run on less manpower, going less far with less productivity.

How do you recharge your workforce? Maybe you need candidates with more workplace experience, or perhaps you need more training opportunities in your business. It could be something as simple as getting candidates with good communication skills or the right attitude.

As part of our commitment to helping businesses grow and prosper, Lancaster District Chamber of Commerce wants to hear what barriers companies face with recruitment. As well as covering experiences with recruitment and plans for future workforce development, the 10-15 minute survey also asks about whether you feel young people in particular are well-prepared for work.

The results of the survey will be used to offer practical solutions for the benefit of businesses, schools and young people, helping to fill the skills gap and allowing businesses to develop their workforce effectively.

To tell us about how you’ve experienced recruitment, take the survey on www.surveymonkey.com/r/WorkplaceSkillsSurvey. Thank you in advance for your participation.
