Seafood Pub Company Receives Two Prestigious Honours

11 April 2014

Lancashire’s fastest-growing food and drink business, the Seafood Pub Company, has received two prestigious new honours in the same month as it announced its sixth pub site.

The ‘Best Pub Group Menu’ award, from the inaugural Development Chef Awards at London’s Westminster Kingsway College, honoured executive chef Antony Shirley’s kitchen team for its style, contribution, and commitment during the growth of the Seafood Pub Company.

And their already award-winning Assheton Arms at Downham took the ‘Tourism Team’ title in this year’s Ribble Valley ‘Stars in Tourism’ Awards for “the highest standards of personal customer service” which has transformed “an old village pub into a highly popular dining experience with a reputation that attracts diners from across the region while maintaining the warmth, atmosphere and charm of a classic English country pub.”

Meanwhile, managing director Joycelyn Neve announced that she will open their sixth pub this summer. The Seafood Pub Company is refurbishing the Derby Arms at Thornley near Longridge and will relaunch it, with bedrooms, within weeks of re-opening the Barley Mow in the Pendle village of Barley.
