Top UK Gastro Pubs

Marketing Lancashire is proud to see three of the county’s finest eating establishments listed in the Budweiser Budvar Top Gastro Pub Awards, organised by The Publican’s Morning Advertiser and voted for by a panel of prestigious food industry professionals and business leaders.

The winners were revealed at a lunch ceremony at the Crazy Bear in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, on Monday 28 January, with the Top UK Gastro Pub named as The Hand & Flowers, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, who retain the award for the second year.

Lancashire’s first appearance in this year’s listing is the Taste Lancashire Highest Quality assured and AA Rosette pub The Three Fishes, part of the Ribble Valley Inns group which also includes The Clog and Billy Cock and The Highwayman in Lancashire. 

Andy Morris, Operations Director, Ribble Valley Inns said, “It is a great achievement to be recognised in The Top 50 Gastropub Awards. The team at The Three Fishes work extremely hard to ensure that our customers receive high quality service when they dine with us.”

Following close behind, at 37, is The Freemasons at Wiswell a 3AARosette and Michelin Bib Gourmand country inn.

Making their first appearance in the Top 50, at 42, is the Taste Lancashire Highest Quality Assured Inn with rooms The Cartford Inn, situated on the banks of the river Wyre at Little Eccleston.

Patrick Beaume owner of the Cartford Inn said "We are delighted to be invited in the top 50 best Gastro pub in the country. The news came as a surprise just before Christmas but I guess it is the fruits of lot of hard work and dedication from all the family and staff. It is an honour to be among some big names in the industry, establishments with rosette and Michelin star. A big thank you to all our visiting guests as without their continuous support, our business would have no future."
