The Marketing Mix was created following demand from the region’s professional marketers and their need for a forum to meet, share best practice and invest in their careers through continuous learning.

Made possible by East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Blackburn Youth Zone, The Marketing Mix is a group for client and agency-based marketing professionals across East Lancashire to access support and education about the latest news, opportunity and statistics from the industry.

Join us on Wednesday 02 December from 08:30 – 09:45 when we’ll be focusing on the challenges the hospitality sector has faced since the beginning of lockdown.  We’ll hear from the perspective of the CEO of Marketing Lancashire and also from that of the Group Marketing Manager at James’ Places.

Redefining Place Promotion with guest speaker Rachel McQueen

Never was there a stranger thing to do, switching from ‘visit Lancashire’ to ‘please stay home’, but as the county’s hospitality businesses were forced to close their doors, many devised imaginative ways to stay in the minds and hearts of their customers.

As we accelerated into re-opening and then put the brakes on again, delivering a coherent place promotion campaign has been hugely challenging, yet never more important. In this session Rachel McQueen, CEO of Marketing Lancashire will outline the thinking behind the #RedefiningLancashire campaign, its successes and limitations, and where we go from here.

We will also be joined by Heidi Kettle, Group Marketing Manager at James’ Places, who will share with us their own personal experience in terms of how they have managed to keep their businesses afloat during this incredible challenging time for tourism and hospitality.
