HAPPA Launches New Corporate Sponsorship Packages to Give Every Horse a Second Chance

The Horses and Ponies Protection Association (HAPPA), based at Shores Hey Farm in Burnley, has unveiled a brand-new Corporate Sponsorship Programme, giving businesses of all sizes a unique opportunity to directly support the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of neglected, abused and unwanted horses, ponies and donkeys.
The new initiative replaces the Charity’s previous scheme with a refreshed, experience-led approach that allows businesses to see and feel the difference their support makes. Through three immersive sponsorship tiers; Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming, companies can now become active partners in HAPPA’s life-changing work while enjoying meaningful staff engagement and team-building opportunities at the Charity’s Burnley base.
Sarah Arthur, Chief Executive Officer at HAPPA, explains, “Every horse we rescue comes from a background of neglect or abuse, and it’s only through the generosity of our supporters that we can change those stories into ones of hope. Our new Corporate Sponsorship Packages allow businesses to see that transformation first-hand, they’ll meet the horses, visit the farm and become part of each animal’s journey to recovery. It’s about more than fundraising; it’s about forming genuine partnerships that change lives.”
The refreshed structure was developed following feedback from previous corporate supporters and local partners, many of whom were seeking more engaging and immersive ways to give back. The new packages have been carefully crafted to reflect HAPPA’s three key stages of equine welfare, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming, while creating memorable experiences for corporate teams.
Three ways to make a difference:
1. The Rescue Package
This entry-level partnership celebrates the beginning of every rescue horse’s journey. Sponsors will directly support HAPPA’s vital rescue operations, helping to fund emergency call-outs, veterinary assessments and initial care for newly arrived equines.
Businesses will receive personalised updates and photos of their sponsored horses, regular insights through HAPPA’s newsletters and magazine and the chance to enjoy guided team away days at Shores Hey Farm. These experiences offer teams the opportunity to step away from their desks and see first-hand how their company’s support is changing lives.
2. The Rehabilitation Package
For teams looking to take their support further, the Rehabilitation Package offers a fully immersive “Day on the Farm” experience, giving colleagues the chance to learn what it truly takes to rehabilitate rescued horses.
Participants can expect to roll up their sleeves and take part in everyday farm life, mucking out, feeding, grooming and even learning to lead a horse through an obstacle course. The experience is designed to inspire teamwork, compassion and understanding, while offering a valuable break from the pressures of the office.
“These experiences aren’t just about supporting animal welfare, they’re about inspiring empathy and connection. Spending a day working alongside our Equine Team helps people appreciate what goes into caring for a horse and understand why welfare education is so important. It’s a team-building experience that leaves a lasting impact.” adds Jen Burton, Education Manager at HAPPA.
3. The Rehoming Package
The Rehoming Package celebrates HAPPA’s ultimate goal, finding every horse a lifelong, loving home. This premium partnership invites businesses to accompany horses on the final stage of their journey, helping to fund ongoing training, rehoming visits and aftercare support.
Sponsors receive exclusive access to two annual team experiences, including both a guided behind-the-scenes tour and a hands-on farm day. Each partnership is recognised with a stable plaque at Shores Hey Farm and acknowledgment across HAPPA’s website, magazine, and social media channels.

Amanda Berry, Head of Equine Operations at HAPPA says, “Corporate sponsorship is about more than money, it’s about helping to complete a journey. The funding we receive through these partnerships supports every stage of an equine’s recovery, from feed and farrier care to veterinary treatment and retraining. When a horse is finally ready to move into a loving home, it’s thanks to the businesses who’ve stood beside us along the way.”
Beyond the direct welfare benefits, the new packages also provide significant advantages for participating businesses. Sponsors gain access to:
- Inspiring team-building days in a peaceful rural setting.
- Opportunities for corporate volunteering and community engagement.
- Recognition across HAPPA’s digital and print channels, including social media (reaching over 30,000 followers) and the HAPPA Magazine.
- Positive PR and content opportunities to highlight their organisation’s commitment to animal welfare and social value.
